今天國慶日，蔡英文總統上任後首度國慶演說。總統府轉述，蔡總統的國慶講話，會維持她的一貫風格，冷靜而理性闡述國家治理的方向。主題是「堅定向前，讓國家因改革而偉大」。整體而言，總統講話結構上分為三個部分，包括施政與國家藍圖、台灣參與國際，第三個部份是重申對兩岸關係的立場與善意。
演說的第一個部分，蔡總統將再次強調新政府施政的主軸，就是要為年輕人創造更好的未來。第二個部分，總統將強調政府將在台灣的國際參與上持續努力。台灣也將重新定位在亞太地區的角色，包括推動「新南向政策」。至於外界最關心的兩岸問題，蔡總統將說明，政府尊重1992年兩岸兩會的會談歷史事實，呼籲雙方共同珍惜1992年以來、20多年來雙方交流成果。
據了解，蔡英文的國慶演說將聚焦在施政與國家藍圖上，兩岸篇幅著墨不多。
